Re: 2 burner flat plate portable bbq
Hi Titch
I have been lucky with my Jumbuck 6 burner flat plate bbq. Still working after 7 years. But the delta doesn't get hot enough from reviews. So looking at other options.

2 burner flat plate portable bbq
Hi Everyone
I am looking at buying a 2 burner flat plate bbq. Want it to fold to be portable. The reviews on the Downunder model seem better than the reviews of the Delta model. Any thoughts on another brand?

Re: Gas lighter
I have a old jumbuck 6 burner flat top bbq that needs a lighter to light.
I use the bic lighters but they often need lots of clicks to work which is annoying.

Re: 44 gallon drum bbq
Hi everyone and Happy New Year.
I ended up buying a 44 gallon drum bbq set up as a offset smoker cheap.
Works well as a grill.
Cooked pork chops with crackling in it and it worked well.
I will need some practise to use the offset smoker but that is the fun of bbq.
Cheers

Re: 44 gallon drum bbq
People that have made a 44 gallon bbq.
What do you use for a charcoal grate?
What do you use for a cooking grate?
What cut on the lid do you prefer 180 degree or 90 degree and why?
Thanks

Re: 44 gallon drum bbq
Hi titch
Yes like that.
Anyone madeone of these?
Seems to be 2 options withe the lid cut. a 180 degree cut or a 90 degree cut. I am not sure which would be better?

Hi titch
Thanks for the reply. I was meaning a drum bbq not a ugly drum smoker. I have a UDS that I made already. Looking to make or buy a ugly drum grill to go with it.

Re: Buying my first offset
Hi Ryan Did you ever work out what to buy? With gas bbqs you can get some rally good deals on second hand gear. Last year I got a Weber Summit for 10 per cent of new price. Now the summit is the top of the range of the Weber gas grills. Are there deals like this with offset smokers? Which offset smo...

Glass Door Gas Smoker
Is a glass door on a smoker a gimmick? I was thinking that the smoke would stain the glass fairly quickly and then you wouldn't be able to see in. May be better to buy a sheeted door gas smoker? Would the sheeted door smokers keep more heat in vs the glass door?
Thanks

Re: Weber Genesis vs other brand hooded bbq
My summit was very cheap. I did have to drive 6 hours and return 6 hours to get it. Still very cheap about 10 % of new price. I know a new model would be better but I could never afford one. My Summit does anything I want. Just something for other people to think about. There may be value in buying ...
