it's so tempting...
Pizza party, registered and am waiting for code if available.
Just wondering if the gas connections etc are certified to Australian Standards?

Re: Removing Kettle Gas Conversion
12x7, that's the gas conversion kit I have. How do you find the heat output?
I finally managed to take the gas burner out of the Weber by removing the clip that holds the mesh in place.

Re: Removing Kettle Gas Conversion
Thanks guys. This didn't come from Weber like this, the previous owner must have installed it. The gas pipe comes through the bottom vents. I'm just stuck trying to work out how to remove the pipe with plate that covers the vent hole. I think I need to unscrew the adaptor near the high / low knob, b...

Removing Kettle Gas Conversion
I picked up a Weber with those larger wheels and the tuck away lid holder. Not sure what model it is, but it came with a gas conversion that I plan to remove. I've tried googling for the kit instructions, but cannot seem to locate them on the weber help site (model 8506). Does anyone have a copy of ...

Re: Robot Turds and Heat Bead Quantity
:) I can't even find turds out here at the moment, last time I did use them I was really unscientific, just put equal amounts in each side to the same perceived level in the baskets as for beads and it all came out fine :) Cheers I must have had too many turds in the baskets. My lamb today came out...

Re: Robot Turds and Heat Bead Quantity
Thanks Gumb, I'll try the logic you use tonight. The redheads are about the length of 2 heat beads, though the heat beads are solid and the turds are not.

Robot Turds and Heat Bead Quantity
I've stocked up on Red Head robot turds. I have the Weber cookbook that mentions to use 25 heat beads per side for normal heat, 32 heat beads per side for hot heat. If I want to use the robot turds instead, what is the ratio I should be using? 2 heat beads for 1 robot turd? Does anyone know?

Re: My Pizza lift
Shayneh, awesome looking pizzas! I raised my pizza stone using a broken up paving stone.
Doesn't the method you used here raise the stone higher than the 2 grates?
I'm also wondering if I should ditch the stone too?

If anyone has some leads as to where coconut charcoal can be sourced, please contribute.
I think Dimmy would also be interested as this is inline with his original enquiry ref heat output...
Cheers !

Re: Help... Robot Turds
Hi dimmy, as the guys said, it's the Red Heads charcoal, the smaller logs the size of heat beads. Not the big logs which are firewood. Just get a pack and give them a try. They are basically the same as Firebrand. If you like them then you can source them elsewhere for a better price but 4kg is a g...

Re: Help... Robot Turds
I use the redheads a fair bit, I normally get them from Coles or woollies , last time I picked some up they were $4 for 3kg One thing I have noticed is they take a little longer than lump to get going but once there going they burn hot, long and consistent. They also relight really well I really li...

Re: Help... Robot Turds
For Firebrand/Hardwood Lump mixture, in the preheat, leave the kettle lid slightly ajar. Also, make sure you have no obstructions at the bottom damper holes. You need unrestricted air flow to fuel a hot fire. Once you reach 550-600F at the lid, your right to go. Shayne Thanks for that. I was trying...

Help... Robot Turds
I was attempting to cook pizza and didn't do as well as I like because I didn't acheive high temperatures in my Weber. I was using heat beads and charcoal. Another thread mentioned higher temps can be reached using 'Robot Turds" in another thread. I was pointed to Bunnings. Gump said:  Rob...
