It's about both prolonged burn and temperature control. Basically a low maintenance cook.
Personally, I don't like the flavour of heat beads, but it certainly works.

Really depends on your tastes. I like to use a very simple seasoned salt that I make myself, see below. But keeping it simple, (table salt, sea salt, what ever you have on hand) allows the flavour of the meat to come through. Seasoned Salt 1 cup salt 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder ...

I can't comment on the Ziggy, but I can on the NG. I have had NG for my gasser for 8 years and I wouldn't change it. I have had the WeberQ 320 for 18 months and love it. I never need to be concerned about refills, and in the time I've been using NG i could buy second mini WeberQ 100 for portability ...
