Re: Countdown to the end of the forum
Gumb stopped posting in SF&F quite awhile ago. Then UG retired from bbq and all of a sudden his shop disappeared from the web. He later posted in SF&F his priorities had changed to look after his mum. Narm and Beachbums are still admins for SF&F. Smokey’s forum had an IT problem and it w...

Re: Countdown to the end of the forum
It’s nice to pop back here every now and then to look back in history. Gumb is no longer a part of SF&F and UG has retired from bbq. Others have sadly passed away. Big box movers have replaced the boutique bbq suppliers. I think there’s no admins left on this forum and zombie bots talk to each o...

Re: Countdown to the end of the forum
Gday So I recon the adds pay to preserve the content. Wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing was happening here. Good point. It might not be a bad thing that the ads pay for the forum to be self sustaining as it has played a big part of Aussie BBQ history. Many of the old forums I used to visit ha...

Happy Easter!
The countdown continues!
I wonder how long the forum will last without an admin?

Re: Countdown to the end of the forum
Why sell the forum if you don't have to do anything to get paid for bots reading posts and generating dollars for no effort?
This is still alive. https://www.aussiebbq.info which I think was created in 2007??

Countdown to the end of the forum
1 March 2024 - Davo can no longer access Admin. How long will the forum last? Will this forum be the last bbq forum standing from the bbq forum glory days? The only old BBQ forum in Australia is the Weber forum. Which will be the winner? Any bets? It will be close - Weber has a strong loyal followin...

Re: Gas v charcoal v electric
Thanks for sharing the videos. Very informative. It looks like how the bbq is designed. eg. bug type, cast iron grill is very important. Cooking the same food, temp you can make great food no matter the heat source. In suburbs where they're trying to ban gas it's great to see the electric perform so...

Re: No Electric BBQ section
I was thinking that the electric bbq scene has changed quite a bit. eg the infrared bbqs. Also things like air fryers can be used outside as people have some pretty fancy outdoor areas nowadays. Plus people still like to bbq in units / on balcony even if charcoal and gas is banned and there's now Q'...

Re: looking for a part for a weber
I have that model kettle in black. I don't think you will have much luck if the Weber forum hasn't helped you out. Since for it's time it was a premium kettle in Weber's line-up I don't think that many would have been sold compared to the mainstream model. Did you try posting on the US Weber forums?...
