Re: Its Quiet on this Board
Yep. still love using my 2 kettles as much as I can or as much as my Mrs can stand eating meat  I had both of them going on Xmas Eve and cooked enough food that kept both of us going for pretty much 4 days. 2kg chicken wings 2 kilo small potatoes 10 frozen corn cobblets (these are the best and ...

Re: Bro and sear
I bought a SnS basket a couple of years ago now from BBQ Spit rotisseries in Sydney and I love it, I rarely use the Weber baskets anymore as the SNS holds around twice the amount of coals both Weber baskets put together and for low n slow, just leave a gap at one end for the lit coals and it'll slow...

I don't think they are a cheap item either, I'm sure I seen them for over $700 or something like that but yeah for maybe smoking it could work well.

Re: Downsizing
You can bbq some pretty tasty veggies on the gasser. There's also vegans who eat meat when they think nobody is watching.   Actually, believe it or not, Veggies rate very highly on my Gasser, sweet potato scollops or lots of Mushies, or Parsnips, Potatoes capsicum green and red, and...

Re: Kamado and smoking tube - why?
You only need the fire hot enough to smoulder a chunk of wood to get a nice smoky result.

Re: Downsizing
Back to Smokey's original post. If I ended up in a unit like Davo mentioned I would keep the Ziggy and put it on the unit balcony. If I needed smoke I would use a smoker box/tube. The rest of the bbqs would be sold off as no space. Yeah the Q3200 I'd keep on the balcony too, I've heard those Weber ...

Re: Kamado and smoking tube - why?
I'm thinking if were using the kamado with direct heat without a deflector the smoking tube might get enough airflow not to go out. Could be used for cold smoking. Yeah mate, I think cold smoking is the go for one of those tubes, I always thought the power of the Komado was that even with low heat,...

Re: Downsizing
In many of the modern unit complexes, especially those that have an elevator and are over 3 stories high, many have strata bi-laws about using solid fuels such as Charcoal or wood due to the amount of smoke they make and the danger of sparks as well as the smell of charcoal and wood at start up will...

Re: Kamado and smoking tube - why?
As you have in the photo when smoking cheese, you don't need the fire from below, but the only other benefit i can think of is that if you have a wood type you wish to use that's not readily available in chunks, you can buy flavoured pellets like BBQs Delight that have combo flavours you might like ...

Re: Just ribbing you on
Yeah Dave, I've tried a few different methods in my low n slow journey, starting with brick pavers that i tried to put end on end to make a straight wall between the fire and the food. I had to make a bit of a zig zap with the pavers because they were a bit too long for about 3rd of the way across t...
