Re: How to use my Smoker

Yes you can upload JPG's on here but you may need to resize them to about 640. Ok as for your smoker, I feel you need to have the waterpan overtop of your fire so it'll create steam. This will help keep the cooking chamber moist and the smoke and steam will mix together to give you deeper penetratio...

Re: Weber Q searing

There's definitely something about a good grilling session...no stuffing about with low n slow....just a good ol fashion fry up. You are right about the gunk....one of the little bug bears of the Weber Q grill plates are the channels underneath get a lot of sticky gunk underneath....kind of makes yo...

Re: Pork Ribs

 Wow....pretty good spread there Dane.....I haven't done ribs for so long, I've nearly forgotten how to cook em.

I just haven't had any motivation to get stuck into cooking lately...but this is certainly starting to make me salivate.
Cheers

Its possible that whatever 3rd party photo site he uses that its not sharing the images. Photo-bucket canned 3rd party sharing last year which left many holes in the forum.

Re: Rotisserie Chicken

Its actually not too bad, I am conscious of the smoke and usually only cook when there is a slight breeze to take the smoke away. When doing ribs or anything else low n slow I usually start early and the smoke is gone by the time the neighbours are up. Of course, sharing is caring so I make sure th...

Re: Hi from South Australia

Welcome to Aussie BBQ forum solidute Yes the technique of low and slow smoking whilst not a new art as far as humans are concerned, but relatively new to Australia. It really got a boost after a series of BBQ competitions began here in Oz and people become aware of this way of enjoying and understan...

Kingsford Charcoal are a waste of money

Whilst I had some success with Kingsford charcoal in the kettle Kone, I set up for my normal indirect set-up being charcoal on one side and the food on the other side of the kettle. Now normally Heatbeads will burn really hot and for a decent session, not so with Kingsford briquettes....I had to put...

Re: New kid here - help needed re a spare part for a MasterBuilt smoker

Just a suggestion....if you're still having no joy from the distributor, might be worth taking the old one to a sheet metal place and get one made up for you.
Shouldn't cost too much i'd imagine.

Re: Controlling heat with my smoker

Hi and welcome to the forum Oscarboots, The link you provided didn't work but I think I found the unit you're talking about. It's an upright water smoker for about $70? Not being able to see the inside of it makes it a little difficult to check out the size of the charcoal basket. Now if this has a ...

Re: Pork loin tasty

What colour bag did the beads come in....please don't say 'yellow' as they have a fuel coating on them for light up without pre lite cubes etc..... If you got them from red/blue or green bags it's ok as they need a fuel source to lite em up. All beads will at first begin with a black smoke until the...
