Re: cooking for 14 people

that's plenty for the numbers

depending how thick, might take longer, but lighting the fire at 12 is what i'd be doing

anything towards the middle that's not cooked enough can be left on, and continue to cook for those that want it for dessert :D

Re: Eye fillet, what's best?

it looks like its the butt end and you are missing the centre cut, if i'm wrong and it is centre portion then steaks it is, the centre cut portions make the best steaks for my taste with the butt end i would leave it whole, salt it, sear all sides and then finish it off at 180 - 200c until internal ...

yeah, i was the good looking athletic guy with the 10 eighteen year olds following me :D

the charcoal is a bit crap, small pieces, not very dense, doesnt last long, i'll stick to the mallee root

the looftlighter is another story, its a pyromaniac's lightsaber, love it

Re: Just how economical is a Q220?

the q220 is rated at an output of 12.7MJ/hr

1kg of lpg contains 46MJ

1 bottle contains 9 x 46 MJ = 414MJ

and should last 414 / 12.7 = 32 hours on full

or something close to that according to the maths
