Re: weber Q 3600

Unlucky ppl, they dont sell the housing itself, you need to buy the bbq as a unit. Little dissapointing So I send weber a pic of my rusty grills and as always perfect customer service they are sending new ones out. Looks like the old girl might be due for a spring clean and going up for sale so I ca...

Re: My new outdoor build...

Hey kempy, go see a trimmer, they should be able to make you a custom cover, (acrylic Canvis) I'd offer but I'm in Sydney.

Fasten with stainless steel press studs, should work a treat!

Good luck mate, build looks unreal!

Unreal idea with the premixed Mexican spice mix Chris, think a Mexican pulled pork taco/burrito night might be on the cards :)

Re: For those who use the 'What Did You Cook' category

Defiantly keep it, I was a new bee onto this site, browsed a few catogeories but it was the hours of page to page viewing on the what you cooked, that got me hooked on this forum!!! Delete that and you will loose a lot of potential new members!!!

Re: Starting Kamado with charcoal chimney starters

I start mine with my chimney nearly every time, and it's never let me down, although most times (unless I'm doing pizza) I will only light 1/3-1/2 chimney and use the vents to get the temps up from there.

Re: Pork on the spit..

When I do pork i seperate the coals so thet there is no direct heat under the pork, have the bar at a height that you can hold your hand there for about 3-4 seconds before it burns, slow cook it that way till its almost done then drop the bar and get the coals directly under it for 10-15 mins to get...

Re: Reliability of a Looftlighter vs Heatgun

I have used a looftlighter for about 6-8 months and only recently invested in a chimney... man the chimney leaves it for dead if you want to get a bbq up to temp, by lighting a few spots with the looftlighter and waiting for it to get up to say 180c is prob at least 1/2 hr... with a chimney would be...

Halfway down this page: http://www.aussiebbq.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12245 you'll see a technique for reverse rear, bringing the meat up to 45C (rare) in a bath of Ghee before searing. You could do the bath in your oven set to 50-60C. Cheers Chris Awesome technique Chris, that look killer, ...
