I have also wondered this. I have cooked several chickens now and also turkey twice. I have had the temp set around the 200 - 210 They have come out rather crispy but lovely and moist inside. Not sure if I have it too hot at that and should be coming down to between 180 - 200. I suppose practice. I ...

I've brined chicken before so might try it with the turkey too. Love turkey enough to eat it at any time of the year anyway :-)

Just wanted to let you know what I did. Foil (with slits) and trivet on the Q. Pre heated for 10 mins then turned down to roast setting (around 205 degrees). I'm not sure what part failed as I replaced the whole unit that they sent. Give them a ring they will no doubt send one out to you :-)

Problem resolved with the replacement parts sent by Weber...... Now that's customer service.

not too sure but I called Weber yesterday and a new ignition kit arrived today. Will fit it tomorrow and report back.

thanks for this.

I will try the oven cleaner for the hood.

I called Weber and they are sending out a replacement ignition unit. Failing that, they are sending out a tech. Now that's customer service.
