Re: Goodbye BSK

It's not all doom and gloom guys, all you would need to do is register a business name, approach BSK to be a dealer in Australia and then just sell them online. If only! But the BSK is owned by a company for whom Gasmate is the sole distributor in this region....and they are still distributing the ...

Re: Had a bit of a shocker..

Hahaha, thanks guys you've put it more into perspective ;) I'll try this 3-2-1 method and see how I go.

I haven't quite hit the flying ribs point yet so that's a plus I suppose ;)

Had a bit of a shocker..

So I made myself up a sauce, bought myself a rack of pork ribs and smashed them on the Kamado. I scored the back of the pork and marinated them in the sauce I made overnight. Swung them into the Kamado at about 90 degrees at 11:30 and left them to cook uncovered. I basted them with the sauce three t...

Re: Is it wise to purchase a kamado overseas

If you have been around the forum long enough, bottom line is the Costco Ceramic is the cheapest you will find. Yeah but he's hitting $840 with the S series if he imports. He could afford the Bear Grill ($750) depending on postage and be able to deal with Aussies for any kind of defects. He also ge...

Re: Massive rack of beef ribs

Thats exactly what he showed me! Is it a good idea to keep the fat on them, will it drip away over the cook or will I have to cut it off afterwards? Is there any easy way to marinate the meat itself and not the fat, I was going to cross hatch and marinade the cuts. Thanks for the link I'll have a lo...

Massive rack of beef ribs

OK, so i'm setting up for my first cook on my Kamado, which should be here in a week or two.. I've sourced a butcher where I can get an entire unshaved rib, looks something like this but still has some fat intact on the top. If I ask him he will chop the fat off but he's of the opinion that I should...

Re: jumpstarting your charcoal

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I find that those hand pumps used to blow up up mattresses are awesome to jump start charcoal, or even a campfire. They have a valve which means when you push or pull there's still air coming out, it's a constant stream of air directly onto the fuel. Works wonders.

With the regular Bear Grills, as I live in Brisbane and could drive to pick it up, do you think I'd be able to talk them down to $700 .
Why ask us ? Why not ask the Bear himself ??

Hey guys, thanks for the replies ;) With the regular Bear Grills, as I live in Brisbane and could drive to pick it up, do you think I'd be able to talk them down to $700 and drive out there to pick it up? Or are their prices set in stone? I can't imagine they'd be paying less than $50 for something ...

Kamodo Cooker under or close to $700

Hi guys, first time poster, long time peruser. Unfortunately for me I am on a rather strict budget ($700). I fell in love with the Kamodo Joe at BBQ's galore and have been trying to find one that's as good quality or close to it since then. Preferably one that has the essential extras bundled. Can a...
