Born a Lutheran

Each Friday night after work, Heinrich would fire up his barbeque on the shore of Arthurs Lake and cook a venison steak. All of Heinrichs neighbors were Catholic ... and since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on a Friday. The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks wafted ov...

Re: Pizza base too hard

When using supermarket type pizza bases, put them on a pizza tray, and then sit the pizza tray on the stone.
This tempers the heat on the base some, making a noticeable difference.
Its all about trial and error, but the above will help.

Search isn't being too helpful. I am looking for a post from a year or so back. Someone posted some photos of a Chinese brand chicken seasoning packet. The brand was something like Searhs or leahs ??? It contains 2 internal packets, enough for 2 chooks. I have used it once before and it is pretty ni...

Re: need fast help with bolar roast

I cut in at 80 minutes and it was near medium so took it off then and rested. I used your temperatures and room temperature meat, So it came out quite nice in the end,
Thanks again Bentley for the great help.

Re: The definitive way to cook pizza on the weber Q300 serie

How hot does a Q get after about 30 minutes flat out? Reason I ask is wouldn't it be easier to cook your pizza in the oven if the heat is similar? I do my pizzas in the oven by heating the oven and stone on full power, I use one of the high cooking grate levels and then when I put the pizza in I tu...

Re: The definitive way to cook pizza on the weber Q300 serie

Hey M&E, when you say "Preheat the Q and stone on high for at least 30 minutes", does this mean "both" burners on High for 30 Min's? Also, when you put the pizza in, do you keep both burners on High for the 8 Minutes? Yes wally, both burners on high for preheat and for the 8...

Re: The definitive way to cook pizza on the weber Q300 serie

Good ideas there M&E. I like the circular foil but especially like the tuna cans to raise the trivet up a bit. I've been trying to find something to do that with mine for a while and you have hit upon the answer. Trouble is....I hate tuna and I don't have a cat to give it too (hate cats too). :...

The definitive way to cook pizza on the weber Q300 series

Thought I would leave this with you all. After years of testing and perhaps thousands of pizzas I have worked out what is for me, the definitive way to cook home made pizza bases on any weber Q300 series BBQ. It allows for the base and toppings to both be fully cooked, evenly and together at the sam...
