Re: 57CM WSM now available in Australia

17 months after I import one ................. now they start selling ém here ( and the Jumbo Joe as well ). But if I'd held off getting it, they probably still wouldn't be doing anything about bringing them over here. Sorta like Murphy's Law, I guess. Still, I wonder if the 37cm size mightn't be ha...

Dry Aging Meat book - due out March 2016

I'll be curious to see what it's like.

He's done two other books - one on making sausage, and the other on smoking food.

Both have received reasonable reviews on Amazon.

Re: RIP Mountain Mick

R.I.P.

His posts were always both informative and humorous.

The BBQ forums will be poorer for his passing.

Just a smear of minced garlic + pepper and salt.

Rib Steaks - Cooked Sous Vide for 4 hours, then finished on Kettle. Served them with some Mushrooms and Jacket Spuds that were cooked on the kettle as well. Sorry about the iphone photos. http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s397/Romulus161/231_zpsjftxnt09.jpg http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s397...

Re: Bbq Week at ALDI

The gas smokers look interesting for the price.

Are they identical to Harks, or are there any differences in the design & quality between both brands ?

Re: Akorn - No longer sold by Bunnings

I spoke to someone in Bunning's NSW State Support Centre last Tuesday, who said they're just running out the remaining stock in stores at the moment because they're mainly a summer range product. They said they should be selling them again when Spring/Summer arrives. Probably like the Looft Lighters...

Re: Electric carving knife - any suggestions ?

I bought a Sunbeam in 2004 and it's still going strong - no complaints. Mind you, it doesn't get used constantly - usually only when we want to carve a roast once or twice a month or the X-Mas ham, so I suppose your mileage may vary. Depends on how much/ heavy a use you need it for, but the same pro...

Advice On Cooking Leg Of Lamb on Kettle

I have a 6" EZ-Que cradle rotisserie that I've been wanting to use on my kettle for some time now. Since I have a small leg of lamb that needs cooking in the next day or so, I thought it might be a good excuse to try it out. Has anyone here cooked one on a rotisserie before, compared to just co...

" Oh well, at least I know what doesn't work "

That's the spirit. :)

As Thomas Edison once said: "I have not failed. I've just found 10000 ways that won't work."

Seriously though - some of the crackle might be beyond eating, but I reckon the rest should be O.K.
