Mobile gas options for 130cm wide alcove

I was hoping to get a Weber Genesis E-310, but Weber have informed me that I can't remove the side table and that the warranty would be voided by putting it a small space. The two obvious options would seem to be a Q320 with the tables folded down, or a built in (say Beefeater or Masport) and supply...

Re: Kamado Practicality

I haven't used my gasser since getting my Kamado (Primo XL), and I frequently cook on week nights. They don't take too long to get up to temp, I guess about fifteen minutes once you're used to the process. They don't need much cleaning, scrape the grills as with any BBQ, scrape the ash out probably ...

Re: Barbecues are burning money - conventional ovens the mos

To put the figures another way, it costs 50c per meal to have it taste like it came from a barbecue, or 8c per meal to have it taste like it came from a microwave. Who in their right mind would ever choose the microwave in that case?

If you call Weber, they'll give you the year model. I bought a 2004 Genesis Silver in the same sale.

I have no idea about the other calculations, but $185 a year for gas if you cook every night is about right.

Re: Barbecues are burning money - conventional ovens the mos

I'm sure everything in that article is technically correct. You have to remember that they're talking about the "average barbecue" which includes open top hotplates etc. Do the same comparison with a top down Weber and I'm sure the outcome will be very different given they're known for the...

Re: Joe VS Vision

Personally I think those three plus the Vision are all better value than the Kamado Joe, but you may get better/easier after sales support out of BBQs Galore. Yeah, you might or you might not. I went for a Kamado Joe at least partially because I thought a big chain of stores would be better placed ...

Re: Joe VS Vision

Bear Grills comes with a heat deflector and his website says he's back in stock: http://www.bear-grills.com.au/product/bg-bbq. His is very similar to the Vision but it has the cast iron top vent like the Kamado Joe. Another option is the Primo round. Their website says $1100 but they will sell it a ...

Re: BBQueing -- and heresy??

But why would a roast cooked by the indirect method in a solid fuel oven (kettle) using either charcoal or heat beads be any tastier than that cooked in a gas or electric oven. You've had smoked food right? That's not cooked direct, it's flavoured by the air surrounding the food. The same principle...
