Yours looks a bit worse than my old one, however you might find a post i did in march 2012 under the heading ..Re Kamado seals.. might be of interest. Since the rebuild it has had some hard use and both the repairs and seals are looking good.

Hi guys have attached some pics of repair and finished seal. Also welded up a new grid and pizza stand.

Rebuilt my 40 year old Kamado a few months ago after interior was badly broken.Repaired with Castworks Refactory Mortar (Air Set) Also replaced the old seal using High Temp RTV red silicon rated at 350 degree C. Just wire brushed the top section to provide a good surface for adhesion.Covered the low...
