As the brisket is on hold until I receive the Texan rubs I thought I’d try to cook some pulled pork. This was a good excuse to visit B2 and see how it compared to my first butcher visit. I visited B2 on a Saturday morning and the place was FULL. Which I feel is a good sign (however doesn’t give you much opportunity to “talk” to the butcher). There where a lot of nice cuts of meat in refrigerators (similar to the ones you find in a supermarket) and this particular butchers advertises as selling at “wholesale” prizes.

So we found a nice pork shoulder (the pork was from bangalow; which is a renowned breed of pork here in Oz. The price was pretty good as well (about 11 dollars per kg). I had a conversation with one of the butchers about brisket and (as per butcher B1) they could do it but required advance notice to provide a cut.
I’ve had good feedback about this butcher but on first impression I just don’t like big crowds in a “small store” (don’t like them in supermarkets either…). Anyway I got served pretty quick anyway and the service they gave I would describe as efficient. The meat tasted GREAT so maybe my next visits will improve on these first impressions.
