Well I made a fateful error today (too hungry is my excuse)… I did a quick grill on my Weber but didn’t take any photo’s. Yeah I know no photo’s no proof no BBQ. As it is still during the week (and work is taxing at the moment) I only got home around 7…

My wife is still on het detox hence I just resorted to cooking up a T-bone and some portobello mushrooms. What I usually do is fire up the Weber on high for about 5 minutes. This allows me to scrape of any of the previous cooks gunk which comes off easily (some of it turns to ash) as the Weber reaches high temps fairly quickly. Weber recommends to do the pre-grill for about 15 minutes…yeah right these 9Kg gas bottles grow on trees (or get filled up magically) anyway a few minutes is more than sufficient…

So I just cooked the mushrooms for about 12 minutes (read 12 minutes exactly) and turned them once putting some goat’s cheese on my wife’s and some cheddar on mine (I’m not on the detox!). I grilled the steak for about 6 minutes and it all came our very well (sorry sorry no photos). I was lucky enough to discover that my wife let the steak come to room temperature (i.e. don’t put a steak on the grill straight from the fridge it just doesn’t work).
Yum yum!

This Saturday I’m not BBQ-ing either as we’re going to a company ball (big night so no Q-ing). Likely Sunday will see a proper cook!!!
