Well we had a number of friends over for a party (about 30-40) and I had two BBQ’s going. Just the Komodo Kamado with ribs; and using my Weber to cook up some snags and some chorizo (they always go down a treat. Yeah yeah I made photo’s but haven’t posted them on flickr yet.
What I always find amazing is how a BBQ will really get people talking and it becomes the social centrepoint (for blokes anyway). There’s something to be said for burning (yeah yeah grilling or smoking) meat and having that lovely smokey smell just wafting over the deck. We had about 5 slabs of pork ribs and I used both hoochie mamma and hog waller sucklebuster rub (great rubs!). My wife still believes I should make my own (which I do at times) but it’s good to know I have some ready to use rubs as well!
If you’r having a party you can’t got wrong with chorizo on the hot plate. You just cut a chorizo up in small sizes and Bob’s your uncle. Drop them on the hot plate (medium heat) and you’ll have some tasty snacks in no time. I won’t mention anything about the snags…just chuck them on the hot plate and away you go. We had a hungry crowd as none of the BBQ-ed snacks got left-over…ah well will have to BBQ again shortly.
