Well lucky me, I just received the Texan rubs I spoke about in a previous entry from Sucklebusters.
I got some Hog Waller (pork and rib rub), Hoochie Mama (BBQ Rub) and some Texan Heat (pepper sauce). Now in general I make my own rubs and have a variety of books and recipes to make them.
I felt though that it would be interesting (read “required”) to see what a Texan rub really tastes like (as I haven’t been to Texas yet) and I figured this is the closest I can get to a Texas BBQ for now.
So I can now cook my brisket (with the Hoochie Mama rub) and will post my review of the sucklebusters rubs as soon as I have tested them. Just don’t expect the brisket to happen this weekend as I’ll be flying up North for a few days. But I may do some ribs on Friday (if I can get to the butcher maybe B3 is an option?).
Anyway short entry and I’ll post some pictures shortly (yeah yeah I know I should’ve posted them in this post).
