Interesting re the purists point of view. Whilst I see all forms of BBQ ie grilling, roasting and slow smoking technically as being BBQ I do find it hard to relate to smoking as BBQ. To me BBQ is grilling regardless whether gas or charcoal. Smoking or low and slow is really just US Southern style. The rest of the world, Australia included, BBQ is grilling or roasting. I also recently acquired a ceramic BBQ and do smoke but mainly for grilling and medium temp roasting. The flavor is fantastic.

I am also an australian resident looking to purchase a KK. I noticed they have a sale on at present making their products far cheaper than what's available in Australia. e.g. $650 for a #7. What were your import costs ?

Cheers
