Well we were in the mood for some paella and as I hadn’t made it in a while we got the ingerdients and did a cook this afternoon. I based this cook on a great recipe from the Naked Whiz you can find his full recipe here. As I’m a lazy so-and-so I have changed his recipe ever so slightly. Still get’s a good result!
Anyway I started the cook around 17:15 which meant with an hour and half start up followed by an approximate cooking time of about 90 minutes the Paella should be on the table around 19:15…
I fired up the Komodo Kamado and had it sitting on a temp around 300F throughout all the “ingredients cooking.
17:46 I started of with sauteing the chicken:

18:00 This took about 10-15 minutes:

18:02 This was followed by a whole red sliced capsicum and about 10 garlic cloves:

18:11 Which after about 10 minutes of cooking looked like:

18:13 Removed the capsicum and garlic and added some grated onion:

18:16 This was cooked fairly quickly:

18:17 Added some grated tomatoes:

18:25 They were done (no more water and it lokked paste like) after 8 minutes:

18:37 Followed by all the ingredients:

19:11 Paella was ready on the KK:

19:15 Paella on kitchen bench:

All in all a good result and well timed (I like that)…
hmmmm
