Aussie Charcoal from Riverina

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Hi one one our posters (and manufacturers of charcoal) send me the following photo’s of the charcoal manufacturing process.

Looks like an interesting method:

1. You get some woodFirst find the wood

The you light it and let it turn into charcoal (yeah I know lot’s about the process (sorry Peter), I believe the technical term is “smouldering” (cough cough I may be wrong).

Turn the wood into charcoal

The next step is to place the charcoal into bags. Hmm who is that guy with the sunnies?

Fill the bag with charcoal

A selection of the bags and some sample charcoal.

Some of the various packaging and sample charcoal

On a pallet all ready to go.

And that’s the story…

Australia Day planning

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Just a small post (again)…

Our plans for Australia day are:

An Aussie brunch (snags + bacon and eggs on the barbie)
Followed by the beach
An afternoon bit of BBQ-ing with lamb.

That should keep the BBQ’s going for the day!

Gadgets (replacements/additions)

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Well, I ordered a new instant thermometer for my good friend Chris (Urbangriller) in Perth. I should hopefully arrive next week and I will out it through it’s paces and blog a review about it!!

I’m also replacing my trusty Weber chimney with an aussie Heatbeads one (if BBQs galore have th new version instead of the “old” one which seems to be smaller. Again this purchaes will be celebrated with a blog review.

I did a couple of BBQ’s this week, ribs, pork chops and salmon (no photo’s) As soon as I can get my eye-fi to wor (which should make my photo transfer a whole lot simpler) I’ll do some more bloggin with photo’s.

In the meantime happy Q-ing and blog u soon!

2010

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

My first blog for 2010!!!

Well the idea is to blog at least once a week. This may prove hard but I’ll def  give it a go.

A big change for us is that we’re moving to sunny Queensland (Noosa) which is great for my BBQ-ing as it is an even more outdoosy environment than Sydney!

It will mean that both my babies Weber Summit and Komodo Kamado neeed to be moved, good luck to the removalists! (photo’s of the BBQ move will be a separate blog post I reckon).

Anyway if all goes well I’ll be BBQ-ing more and blogging more.

CU all in 2010 (weekly!)
