Another hello from Brisbane

Thought I'd say hi. Not terribly experienced with BBQ other than your usual snags/burgers. Have a cheap convenient 4-burner gas bbq that's not really been doing it for me and is on its way out. Have loved American-style brisket and pork and wings for a while and would like to try my hand at it on a proper charcoal bbq rather than in the oven or on gas. Also miss the smokey-flavoured grills that I grew up with! Bit of a learning curve looking at all the different styles, but I love cooking and spice across the board.
