hi guys, well I ended up getting a Weber Genesis last weekend and thought I'd Christian it with something easy and nice so got some nice scotch steaks and tried it out.
I overlooked them a bit but they still came out nice and juicy and very tasty, I just have to remember to shorten my cook time. I also tried some BBQ chicken pizzas on a Weber stone which turned out quite nice.
At the moment next to me in the Weber kettle I have a nice 3kg leg of lamb cooking, hope it tastes as good as it smells. I tried to take a photo but it keeps telling me the file size is too big, I'll have to work that one out.
So next weekend I have a big cook up coming, it's the start of our BBQ season. I'm doing a 4kg leg of pork, 2.5kg of ribs, another leg of lamb and the usual burgers,chicken and wings as well as a bunch of side dishes.
I was thinking of putting the lamb and pork in the kettle, the ribs in the q2200 and the rest in the genesis, what do you guys think?

Have fun, sounds like you have a plan so go with it.
The pork and Lamb can start early and be rested in an esky to keep hot.

A dry esky (one not used for cold drinks) is a very valuable piece of BBQ kit to have and it doesn't need to be an expensive one.
The insulating qualities will ensure that things stay hot or cold for a reasonable time.
By wrapping up cooked meats in foil then newspaper or old towels will see them keeping warm for ages, enough so that even if you precook something on your bbq at home, you can take to a friends place to share....should last at least 100km trip.
I know that the first time I tried this, I placed in a roll of scotch fillet pork for pulled pork, 3 hours later after placing in the dry plastic esky wrapped up in 3layers of foil and 3 layers of newspaper, it was still way too hot to pull apart with fingers....it was seriously hot but man did that meat just fall apart...it was incredibly delicious.

I read about the esky trick on this forum and tried it yesterday with my leg of lamb, I had it wrapped up for about an hour and it was like it just came off the barbie, I reckon this trick could be a life saver one day.
