What did you ruin?
Re: What did you ruin?
Last night was not my night!
I did steak, sausages, ABT's, hasselback potatoes and corn on the cob all on the weber kettle.
I have never cooked ABT's, hasselback potatoes and corn on the cob before.
ABT's were awesome, could have just had a whole plate of them.
Steak and sausages were good, hard to stuff that up!
The corn on the cob tasted ok but seemed pretty crunchy, I did them in their husks indirect.
Hasselback potatoes were a disaster, ended up leaving them in for 2 hours as they were nowhere near ready after about 1 1/2 hours, even after two hours they were crunchy and undercooked.
Oh well guess you have to try new things every now and then

For the corn, open the husks and remove the fibers, rub with butter, fold back the husks and drop them in a bucket of water for an hour or so before cooking.
....for the spuds, nuke for 2 min before baking.
Cheers

Thanks Lads,
I did pull the husks back and pull the fibres off but only soaked for about 10mins, so will definitely soak for longer next time.
Will nuke the spuds too, keen to give them another go.

Re: What did you ruin?
Ruined some beef ribs, I think it started at the butchers, I didn't get them trimmed down, I was in an experimental frame of mind and wanted to see how far they would render down. Had 4 hours in my mind but took longer and went to bed letting them cook, my dog is extremely happy with this result.
