This will protect them.

When you have to wash them, never air dry them.
Worst thing you can do.

They will get down to 120C.
I 'll be finding that out tonight, roast beef rolls and gravy for the hoards.

Cooked some nice steak last night again threw them on just prior to 250, turned them after 90 second, another 90 them moved them to low heat for three minutes. Darm things crept into medium, not a disaster but more practice required.
Roasted a 2 kg rump last night and lowest I could get it down to was 155C, that was with one burner on low. Swaped burners half way throught the cook and again 155c was the lowest. Not that I see that as an issue but curious as to how you could get any lower. (without micro managing it)

I'd image the size of the cook would effect the ultimate min temp.

You could try a tray of water as a heat sink or what I've heard of other people doing is fiddling with the dial so it's in between off and high. They can then get a small flame and keep the BBQ nice and low. I haven't tried cooking like that but just tested it on my gasser I found I could get a smaller flame than on the low setting.

Cutlet, Take it back. I know there were bbq's being replaced.
Mind you, 155c is about perfect for normal roasting and they are not meant to be slow cookers.
So it up to you if you want to push it.
The just on trick does work but you run a risk in a couple of ways.
1) Its not in the manual (allthough a galor staffer showed me)
2) It could go out and leak unbured gas.

So you would need to be on your witts if you did that.
Personally Id take it back and ask for one of the R's

Ill leave it at this,,, Does the temp gage start at 155c?
If trees screamed when we cut them down, We wouldn't. If they screamed all the time we would.

You get what you pay for!
Both have good features, both have bad points.
I love my Q, i use it all the time, I love my wood fired pizza oven.

I wish other companies we dealt with at work, were atleast half as good as Weber are with after sales service.
You can read so many good stories, very little bad stories. When something goes wrong, they fix it.

Wonder how far BBQ's galore will go on supporting there bugg? ask the question? ask them for a random part on the bbq and how long it would take to get one?

Its rare for things to breakdown but shit happens

I've always had good support and service from both BBQs Galore and Beefeater. Had good support from Weber also.

I'm am dissappointed I cant get it lower and will consider taking it back should I not be able to do my pork belly.

In the meantime I continue to experiment. last two meals have been F's. My fault not the device.

Now I'm hearing pour boiling water on the pork fat prior to cooking, for best crackling.
