New Q220 First Use - Perfect Thank You All

Postby Rhodesian Mark » Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:46 pm

Got a new Q220 for my b/day last week. Seasoned it ready for my 1st trial...a 2.5kg leg of lamb. I have to say that with a bit of garlic, rosemary and a dry rub it was the best lamb I have ever had and my guests all said the same thing. I was a bit nervous at trying this for a few gusts as I had never used a Weber Q before but I had read so many good reports. It did not fail me and the meat was ready a bit early which meant that it rested for a good 45 mins and this is one of the keys to any food...resting for a good length of time. I would have been able to cut that lamb with a butter knife. So I must say thank you all on this site who have contributed and posted here as your valuable input and information produced a perfect roast for me. Thank you.

Congrats Mark,
The Q's are just so easy - i was like you, unsure about entertaining with it the first time, having bought the Weber Q on recommendation, it still seemed a traditional Gasser made more sense... Of course, all it took was that first cook :D

Be careful spending too long around here though! I came here to seek advice on WeberQs and share my ownership experiences and suddenly had to buy a kettle, and a Go Anywhere grill - and i am looking for a second kettle, a Smokenator and a rotisserie kit :D:D :D

Thanks Yamapro,
I have hung around here too long as I already have a weber kettle, 6 burner with rotisserie, Hark smoker and now the new Q220. I would love a BGE but I think that would be pushing it a bit far with minister for finance. I would BBQ every day if I had my way. Mark
