Cleaning advice for Weber q 300

Postby kyleb » Sat Jul 03, 2010 1:47 am

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Weber Q 300 and was wondering what tools or chemicals other users would recommend for cleaning the bbq?

I have seen quite a few people mention wire bristle brush? Is this correct tool to use?
Where would be the best place to purchase the recommended tools?
Is it recommended to use the tools manufactured by Weber?

Thanks
kyle.

welcome ...... :)

mate.....

yes a brush is the way to go, but NOT just any wire brush, please go to your BBQ joint where you purchased your "Q" from and buy a BBQ brush.

a "wire" brush will rip the guts out of your grill .....so, DON'T CHEAP OUT.....you bought a quality product.. 8) ..look after it with quality tools..

sorry if this reads preachy, but................

Use a Brass brush...anything else will scratch the coating on the grills and it will rust.

The following post has all the info about cleaning. Use a brass brush if possible. Weber discontinued theirs and now have a SS version

I've had the Weber Q300 for 6 months and been very happy with it.

I bought a Weber stainless steel brush which might be a problem. I also think I didn't keep the grill oiled enough. I typically cook on the left side only and haven't been oiling the right hand side. It seems that there is now some slight rust on the right side.

Is there a solution to rectify the rust issue?
