Just gave mine a first seasoning run, amazed at how well you can control the temperature. Loaded it up with a mix of Diggers (scrap from the bottom of the bag) and some Heatbeads, one firelighter on the top of the pile quite quickly had me at a stable 200C. For a giggle cranked the vents open and had 300C in notime, backed off quite fast when I closed things back up again.
Tiny bit of smoke escaping the lid seal where I had the probe going in but that's no great surprise.
All closed off now, temp is slowly dying off...resisting the temptation to crack the lid open to see if it will fully choke the fire.
Can't wait to run a first cook on it, fingers were itching to toss something in it but with the wife having spent the better part of the afternoon cooking up dutch peasoup she'd kill me
