Thermoworks Smoke? Your opinion and best place to buy?

Post by L2obin » Sat Apr 15, 2017 2:23 pm

Hi All.

I have been eying off the thermoworks smoke system for low and slow as well as general bbq. Is this currently the best go to probe system?

Further, where is the best place to buy one? It's 40usd shipping if I buy it directly from thermoworks. There must be a better option out there?

Hello mate,

I ordered one 3 weeks ago and it arrive just prior to easter weekend.

My historical use of themometers was a very old Igrill, and a cheap-o digital instant read. I have often just trusted the thermometer on the lid of whatever vessel I choose to cook in (webber kettle, beafeater gasser, smoke kings kamodo etc...)

I gotta say.. I wish I had of had this ages ago. I love the 2 zone functionality, I love the little device that I can watch my footy with (but wifi would be better imo), I love the unit and probes themselves (solid).

I watch ballistic bbq, and gregs review on one of his episodes is why I went for it. Postage sucks, but if I can do a handful of cooks a lot better, this thing will pay for itself quickly (and I have already seen big discrepancies between lid thermometers and instant read for example)

Hope this helps. Cheers

Looks like a beast! Has it arrived yet?

Keen to see what you think when you see it in the flesh.
