Weber SJ cast iron grill

Post by lordsnipe »

Hey guys,

Anyone know of a suitable cast iron grill for the smokey joe? A bit wary about ordering from the States as I think their SJ's are a different size (I saw one pic of the charcoal baskets fitting, but they definitely don't in mine).

Measure it.....the small Cast Iron Grill I have is for 18.5" grills to suit the Kamado's and Smokey Mountain....I think the Joe is 14.5".

There is a CIG 14.5, just none in OZ! I'll have a chat withthe maker, see if I can get a few in, I've got to place an order for griddles, just waiting for a Go Anywhere prototype to be finished.

Here it is anyhow:

Just had a wild thought....doesnt the Dragon Fire Kamado Like Sos has, (Beefeater Rock) have a SS grill?.....so parts for that must be available? Might take a few phone calls!

Hi Chris,

If you can get the 14.5" cast iron I would definitely grab one off you. The Smokey Joe is perfect for a two person steak cook up.

I am assuming these are the ones? http://www.amazon.com/preseasoned-Smoke ... 67&sr=8-10

This also seemed a novel idea for my 57cm kettle, although I think I'd probably rather change the grill over to cast iron depending on the type of cook. http://www.amazon.com/Weber-7420-Gourme ... d_sbs_ol_7

Hi Warren,

PM me your email address and I'll put you on the list (that is the same 14.5 inch grill you saw on Amazon).

The other one is a Weber part, I don't think it is available here.

I do have the 57cm full Cast Iron Grill in stock.

Cheers

Just looked up the DF...it is 19.5 inch, so that won't work!

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but did anyone ever manage to come up with a SJ grill ?

I got one brand new in the box for $40 recently, but haven't really used it as I get a much better sear using an old grate on my Go Anywhere...

Cheers,
Paul....

I just cut down an old grate with an angle grinder and put it in the SJ
Works great!
