OK got you now...how about this:

GM093 Adaptor 3/8" LH BSP - 1" 20 UNEF

http://www.gasmate.com.au/SCats.asp?SCa ... 87&CatID=4

Even has a tap valve.

I'm a Gasmate dealer, so I'm reading out of my parts list.

Cheers

Wrong way around. From what I can see that's for running a 3/8" appliance off a 1"-20UNEF camping canister bottle, rather than running a 1"-20UNEF appliance off a 3/8" or POL bottle. Needs to have the same outlet fitting as the Coleman camping canister that plugs into the Performer.

Was browsing through BBQs Galore the other day and noticed a Gas Safety Gauge.

http://www.blackandstone.com/gas-safety-gauge.html

That has a POL-to-POL so its compatible with that Gasmate GM110 hose. Of course, this is assuming you want to fit a regulator as a safety device rather than a pressure limiter...

By the way... love the sound of that mini-flamethrower when it's lit... never fails to bring out a smile! [Queue evil laugh...]

Been using the hose I posted up previously since that post 2-3 times per week with no issue... but make sure your second hand Performer still has a regulator!

Same concept - I just have the Gasmate version (special order through Bunnings) rather than the Coleman version in that thread. Mine cost me about $17 or so...

Bunnings couldn't get it through their special orders desk? They can get anything in the Gasmate range through there usually...?

Here is the 9kg lead with POL adapter
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/COLEMAN-LPG- ... 2eb9b61c76

and for a smaller bottle with 3/8 adapter
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/COLEMAN-LPG- ... 2c5f01da51

Pretty pricey once postage is added. That said, its not what i paid cause mine were purchased off the shelf.

I have that exact lead and the male end is bigger than the female end on the performer. The female on the performer is 10-12mm in diameter, that Coleman one the male is about 20mm and is waaay bigger and will not screw into the performer

I think my performer either needs 3/8 or 1/4 inch. Is this possible for older performers?

here are some photos at this post if someone could help...

So is this the same hose? Just looks a little different:

http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-s ... escription

Also, could someone confirm, if I was to use a 4kg bottle with this which of the following would I need to use:

http://www.elgas.com.au/swapngo/camper- ... fill-price

There appear to be 2 types of 4kg bottle - one with a camper valve and one with a POL. I'm assuming it would be the one with the camper valve?

So these are the only 2 things I would need to buy to get rid of the disposable canisters?

can someone please confirm who HAS ACTUALLY done this...

here is a link to the the regulator and hose that has come off my weber performer. I checked at BBQ GALORE today and the thread on their new one is EXACTLY the same

http://www.aussiebbq.info/forum/viewtop ... =14&t=5985

here is what people are saying will screw into the weber end -

http://www.gasmate.com.au/SCats.asp?SCatID=44&ProdID=96 or
http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-s ... escription

i can categorically state that these hoses WILL NOT FIT. The thread going to the gas bottle is ok for a 9kg, but the thread on the other end is about 20mm... go and measure your weber performer thread and you'll see that it's about 10-12mm which will clearly not fit.

Can anyone who has actually done this successfully please provide some input.

Propane is one of the gases that come under the generic name of Liquid Petroleum Gas or LPG.

The small canisters you run the $20 single burner cookers on is Butane, which can also be referred to as LPG.

The stuff you get in the 4 and 9kg cylinders is always 100% Propane (with a tiny bit of Mercaptin in it to make it smell bad). The stuff you run your car on can be a mix of Butane and Propane, from 50/50 to 100% Propane, but never more than 50% Butane.

Cheers in advance for the assistance.

Sorry for the late reply - Nate

The adapter is a "Gasmate butane cartidge adapter" & It's for hiking stoves that take the same style canister as the performer.

it's a direct screw in to the performer and allows you to use the cheap canisters - cost is between $15 to $20.

Have been using this setup for 4 years now - never bothered to go down the LPG route. The canisters are so cheap it just wasn't worth it.

you can get the adapter here:
