A little bit of everything on that Weber

Post by bbqdude »

I had guests over, so I made a bit of everything. The coals are under the griddle and the potatoes right next to them on the bottom grate. Onions and brats on the griddle, bunch of wings closer to the fire, cream-cheese, bacon, onion stuffed green peppers and corn(soaked for an hour, husk half removed) The egg-plants are for the egg-plant salad. Enjoy!

Looks fantastic. Gotta love the kettle.
Did you have the fire to one side only?

Thats right. I look at what I want to grill and think about the time and temp the foods need. Chicken needs an hour, medium/high indirect, so I first had a grate quarter over the coals to give the eggplants high heat. Cream cheese is low indirect and long time, same goes for the soaked corn. Potatoes always next to the fire or they take forever.
Later I put the eggplants to the back and placed the griddle over the coals for brats and onions. I figure that most foods dont need a too high heat, so I spread them in circles away from the griddle.

Looks mighty tasty mate......always good to add some colour to the cook then your guests realise bbq isn't just all brown after all.
