Vessel for offset build - wa

Post by mobrien »

Hi everyone

I've just moved to Bunbury, WA and the removalists destroyed my Weber. (Read flat lid!). I got $550 from the insurance and spent $40 on another Weber from gumtree, and between the old and the other one, have put together a working unit.

I've always wanted an Texas offset, and figure I can probably build one for $500 and be even - at last that's what I'm telling SWNBO! I've got the gear (mig, grinders etc) and I like building things so figure it's win win.

But!! I'm looking for some kind of vessel for the main chamber. Any ideas of where to look here in WA? I'm
In Perth most months so that's potentially another option.

Would love any ideas!

Mate i'd have gone apoplectic with rage if someone flattened my Weber.

There's a LPG gas tank on gumtree in Bunbury at the mo if thats the sort of thing you're looking for.

Keep us updated on how you go. I'm wanting to do the same thing once the house purchase goes through and I can finally get the mancave I deserve.
