Re: Dual Probes, Pit Temperature Controller

I love the idea, have you seen this one:
http://tvwbb.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/927 ... 7691098906

it basically connects the probes and the fan control to an arduino and this per USB to a Linksys/TPlink router running linux. This way you can read the temprature and adjust it from you phone.

Great idea, since plastic is molded at high temps, doubt its gonna melt in the bbq. But good to really know it doesnt.

Re: A little bit of everything on that Weber

Thats right. I look at what I want to grill and think about the time and temp the foods need. Chicken needs an hour, medium/high indirect, so I first had a grate quarter over the coals to give the eggplants high heat. Cream cheese is low indirect and long time, same goes for the soaked corn. Potatoe...

Onions and brats on the griddle, bunch of wings closer to the fire, cream-cheese, bacon, onion stuffed green peppers and corn(soaked for an hour, husk half remov...

Grilled pumpkin soup

I think this is one of the few "V" recipes that fits a bbq forum. Mainly because it contains a large amount of bacon! Grill yourself some pumpkin, I suggest to put some bacon on them. pumpkinsoup1.jpg Cook some onion, garlic and bacon in a pot pumpkinsoup2.jpg Chop up the soft pumpkin pump...

Re: Pork Shoulder on a Big Green Egg

Nice, you removed the shoulder bone, right? Is it really necessary to put that much coal in the egg? You shoulder looked a lot darker than the ones I usually end up with. And I usually dont use a drip pan either. So just checking, next time I try it your way.
