Re: Charcoal grill for son
Good Morning Thomas I own a weber and a Dragon Kamado both get used often. For cooks for the Mrs and I, I use the weber Kettle for Low and Slow and Searing heat for Steaks etc. Pizzas come out nice as well when using a pizza stone. This is my experience on using a Weber Kettle. Large cooks for frien...

Re: Question for those who use Pellet cookers
Thanks Steve, Ive had a look around and boy you are right so I mentioned to him about looking on the net about pellet poopers as you call it, and he's decided to get a small gas BBQ as a back up. I have a feeling that as we head in Summer we will be seeing a few more power outages. Once again thanks...

Question for those who use Pellet cookers
Old Mate down the road uses a pellet cooker and whilst cooking his dinner we had a power cut, so being a good mate I finished his cook with my Dragon Kamado, Just wondering if anybody has had the same thing happen, and what they have done to overcome the misfortune. I was thinking of advising him of...

Re: Having Fun with my Kettle Kone
Thats the photo I've seen and thought the chook would have been nice and moist and then I had the same idea as you Davo, thinking this kind of cook would use a lot of fuel. Thats why I asked the question about that type of cook.

Re: Akorn and Pork Crackle
Whew I thought I was the only one that had to increase the heat towards the end of the cook when doing pork Crackle. Looks like I'm in the same boat and I own a Dragon Kamado.

Re: Charcoal v heat beads
Good Morning Truman My understanding is that you can use a mixture of charcoal and heat-beads in a weber, I accidentally overheard this conversation at BBQG the other day and the person said he uses a ratio of 2 lots of Charcoal to one lot of heat-beads. I have to try that out one day. Personally I ...

Re: Hello from SE QLD
Davo Thanks for the info about the charcoal types I may have to experiment with the different types, the only charcoal I use is the Heat Beads charcoal from Bunnings as it is convenient and cheap, less than $2.00/kilo and a bag lasts about 4 months. All I can say at the moment is "Let the Adven...

Hello from SE QLD
Just want to say Hello from Mount Warren Park, I currently own a Dragon Kamado, Dragon Hibachi and as of a few days ago I came across a Weber 57cm Kettle in good condition on the side of the road waiting for the Council Clean up, the only thing I have to do is sand and re-varnish the wooden handles....
